Phonetic typing guide
Vowels change form after a consonant: kaa gives का, while aa gives आ. A single a gives the inherent vowel, as in ka → क. Capital T, D and N select retroflex letters; use lowercase for ordinary typing. Common-word suggestions can override these literal rules.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is this an English-to-Nepali translator?
No. Write Nepali sounds with Roman letters, such as mero naam, to get मेरो नाम. English sentences are not translated. Switch to English / direct typing to keep English words unchanged.
Can I type any Nepali word?
The tool combines a common-word dictionary with phonetic letter rules. Roman spellings are ambiguous, so names and less common words may need correction. Use the spelling choices, character keyboard or a Nepali keyboard on your device to edit the result. It is not a contextual AI spellchecker.
Is my Nepali text uploaded or saved?
Typing and conversion happen locally. This tool does not upload your text or save it in browser storage. Copy or download important writing before closing or reloading the page. Optional site analytics does not receive editor contents.
How do I keep English words, links and email addresses?
Choose English / direct typing before writing English text. Convert selected text changes only your selection; without a selection it converts all Roman words. The Convert button preserves web links and email addresses, along with existing Nepali text, punctuation and numbers.
Can I use this on my phone or without an internet connection?
The editor works with touch keyboards and an on-screen Nepali character keyboard. After the page has fully loaded, conversion needs no network requests. Opening or reloading the website still requires a connection.
How do I undo a conversion or type a half letter?
Use Undo or Ctrl+Z (Command+Z on Mac); Redo restores the undone step. Add _ after a consonant to request a halant, such as k_ for क्, or insert the ् character from the keyboard. The example button inserts at the cursor and can also be undone.
