Free Scientific Calculator Online
Work through mathematical expressions with parentheses, powers, roots and trigonometric functions. This scientific calculator online is designed for students and everyday technical calculations.
How to Use
- Choose degrees or radians before using trigonometric functions.
- Type an expression or use the buttons. Write multiplication explicitly, such as 2*(3+4).
- Select Calculate or press Enter in the expression box.
- Read the result, then edit the expression to calculate again.
Why Use This Tool
- Normal mathematical operation order, including parentheses.
- Degree and radian modes, with inverse trigonometric functions.
- Calculations run locally without signup.
Frequently Asked Questions
Which functions can I use?
Use sin, cos, tan, asin, acos, atan, sqrt, ln, log, abs and exp with parentheses. Constants pi and e, powers (^), factorial (!) and percent (%) are also supported. log means base 10; ln means natural logarithm.
Does it follow mathematical precedence?
Yes. Powers are evaluated before multiplication and division, which come before addition and subtraction. Powers associate to the right: 2^3^2 equals 512. The expression -2^2 equals -4; use (-2)^2 for 4.
How do percent and angle modes work?
Percent divides the preceding value by 100, so 200*15% equals 30. Degree or radian mode applies to both trigonometric inputs and inverse-trigonometric outputs.
What are the accuracy limits?
This calculator uses floating-point arithmetic and rounds the final answer to 12 significant digits. Expressions are limited to 300 characters; factorial accepts whole numbers from 0 to 170. Complex numbers and symbolic algebra are not supported.
Are my expressions uploaded or stored?
No. Expressions are evaluated in this browser tab. The tool does not upload them or save calculation history.
