Choose the right copy for your document

Frequently Asked Questions
Will every PDF become smaller?
No. Some PDFs are already compact. If the result is not smaller, Kalika offers your unchanged original and shows 0% saved. A specific target size is not guaranteed.
Which compression level should I choose?
Start with Balanced for a scanned document. Choose Smaller file if size matters more than fine detail. Choose Keep text for searchable reports, clickable links or editable form fields.
Can I compress an insurance form or application?
Ordinary unsigned PDF forms are supported. Keep text retains their fields. Balanced and Smaller file make a fixed copy of visible entries where their appearances can be preserved safely. Some special forms need Keep text or a copy saved using Print to PDF.
What happens to digital signatures?
Kalika does not compress digitally signed PDFs because rewriting them would invalidate their signatures. Keep the signed original or obtain an unsigned copy. A drawn signature image is not the same as a cryptographic digital signature.
Are my documents uploaded?
No. Compression runs in this browser tab. The tool does not upload or save your PDF in browser storage. Download the result before leaving.
Are there page limits?
Keep text supports up to 200 pages. Balanced and Smaller file support up to 50 pages, with limits on the amount of generated image data to protect browser memory. Large or complex documents may take longer.
