Resize a photo to fit an online application's requirements
An application form may specify three different things: pixel dimensions, a file-size limit and an accepted format. Meeting one does not guarantee the others. Write down the form's exact requirements before changing your photo.
Separate dimensions from file size
A requirement such as 600 by 600 pixels describes the picture's shape and resolution. A limit such as 200 KB describes how much storage the file uses. These are examples, not universal application rules. Also check whether the form requires JPG or accepts PNG and WebP.
Keep the right shape
Open the Image Resizer, select your photo and leave Keep original proportions enabled. Enter the required width and check the calculated height.
If the form requires a square but your original is rectangular, resizing alone will not produce a square without distortion. Crop a copy to the required shape in your device's photo editor first, then resize it. Kalika's resizer does not provide a crop control. Avoid simply turning off proportions to force a face into different dimensions.
Export an accepted format
Choose the format required by the form and select Resize & download. JPG can be suitable for photographs; PNG preserves transparency when that is needed and accepted. Enlarging a small source photo does not recover missing detail, so use a higher-resolution original when possible.
Reduce bytes only if necessary
Check the downloaded file's size. If it is still too large and JPG is accepted, open the resized copy in the Image Compressor. Try a quality setting around 0.8, then lower it gradually if necessary. Compare facial details and any lettering after each export. Compression does not guarantee that every source becomes smaller.
Check before submitting
Confirm the final dimensions, format and file size, then open the image at a comfortable viewing size. Check any separate requirements for background, framing or photo age against the form's own instructions. Kalika processes the photo locally; uploading the finished image to the application service is a separate step you choose.
